Abstract

The utilization of mobile phone technology has not only focused as a means of communication, or
entertainment, but it has also been utilized as a medium of learning. Mobile learning can be briefly defined as a
learning to exploit the opportunities of having Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM) by using technology
that is mobile. On the concept of learning, mobile learning brings the benefits of the availability of material that
can be accessed at any time and the visualization of interesting material. It is evidently shown from several
studies that utilize mobile phone technology as a learning medium. This research is a research and
development (R & D) in which the model used in this research is the 4D model that includes: define, design,
development, disseminate. This research begins by conducting needs analysis, curriculum analysis, student
characteristics analysis and feasibility analysis. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of the
implementation of mobile learning for learning camera techniques showed a yield increase of 24%, which was
proved from the test that has been done and the results of the questionnaire respondents stated that 97.3% of
them agreed that mobile learning applications can improve learning outcomes.
